It is clear from the first glance what the name of this guitar is derived from. The Rancher Penguin has a smaller parlor-type body with a sound focused more on the more prominent midrange frequencies. The soundboard is solid spruce, while the sides and back are laminated maple. Not to be missed is the atypical triangular shape of the soundhole, which is closely adjoined by a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard fitted with 20 frets. A synthetic bone fretboard and saddle provide the guitar with rich reverb and reliable intonation. The Die-Cast Deluxe tuning machines are gold-plated, as is the rest of the hardware, including the pickguard. The edges of the body, neck and headstock are trimmed in a combination of black and white, while a wider gold glitter border completes the overall design.
A system from the renowned Fishman company is used for sound pickup and amplification. Specifically, a Sonicore piezo pickup complemented by an Isys+ preamplifier. On it you can adjust bass, treble and switch the phase in addition to the volume. Of course, there is a built-in tuner.
