The Twin Reverb from Fender is undoubtedly one of the most popular tube instruments in the world. This model has been adapted to the exact requirements of jazz guitarist George Benson and produces a rich, punchy tone with soft attack and singing sustain.
The combo offers Normal and Vibrato channels, each with two inputs. The first input on the Normal channel features a lower gain, making it ideal for a clean sound even at high volume. In the preamplifier, this tube combo is equipped with 12AX7, 12AY7 and 12AT7 tubes, while the final amplifier has four 6L6 tubes. Total power is 86 W.
The sound is provided by two 12-inch Jensen Tornado 12 speakers with neodymium magnets. The speakers are lighter in weight, which together with the pine box reduces the weight of the combo compared to the standard Twin Reverb by almost six kilos.
The control panel is located at the front. First there's the Normal channel control section, where in addition to the two inputs you'll find the Volume, Treble, Middle and Bass potentiometers, plus the Bright switch. Next is the Vibrato channel control, here again there are two inputs, and in addition to the Volume, Treble, Middle and Bass controls and Bright switch there are also Reverb, Speed and Intensity potentiometers that control the built-in spring reverb and vibrato.
The combo is covered in grey vinyl, making it eye-catching at first glance. Of course, there's a great, rounded sound that's very clear and offers plenty of room for clean tones.
