The M 150 Tube uses an extremely thin titanium diaphragm with a diameter of 12 mm. Although the ideal properties of titanium have been known for some time, until recently it has not been possible to obtain it in the quality required for the manufacture of this type of microphone.
In designing the microphone, the requirements of sound masters were taken into account and the shape of the protective grille was chosen to be the same as that of the M 50. By placing the microphone capsule on the surface of a relatively small sphere (40 mm), this microphone has a unique directional characteristic.
At the lowest frequencies, the system behaves like a true omnidirectional pressure transducer with a perfectly circular directional characteristic. At medium and higher frequencies, the characteristic tapers off. The M 150 Tube is the perfect microphone for stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 and especially for DECCA Tree pickups.
The dynamic range of the M 150 Tube is 119 dB, allowing you to record all music without any limitations. Because the microphone has very low self-noise (15 dB-A), it is possible to increase the gain without risking an increase in recording noise. Transformerless output circuits ensure quality reproduction of weak signals and low frequencies and allow the use of long cables without loss of quality.
Available in matt nickel.
