The body of the SE Swamp Ash Special Charcoal is made of swamp ash. A maple fingerboard with twenty-two frets is glued to a bolted maple neck with a Wide Thin profile. Position markers in the form of mother-of-pearl bird silhouettes facilitate orientation on the fingerboard.
A definite plus of the guitar is not only the nice clear sound, but also the sonic flexibility. Featuring two proprietary humbuckers, a PRS-Designed AS-01 single-coil middle pickup, and a push/pull tone-shutter function, the guitar offers six different pickup configurations, including "twangy" tones that excel in "hot country," blues, and jazz.
Strings are held in PRS tuning machines and the patented PRS tremolo. The guitar comes in a gig bag.
Paul Reed Smith's PRS guitars are considered some of the most versatile and reliable instruments ever made. Thanks to their great sound and playing comfort, they are popular with Santana and Mark Tremonti, for example. In addition to the tried-and-tested classics, the brand also offers left-handed models, seven-string, baritone and semi-hollowbody guitars, and signature models from famous guitarists. SE instruments are made in Indonesia. However, you don't have to worry about their quality - manufacturing standards and careful output control are a matter of course.
